Privacy Policy
Last updated September 15, 2026. This explains exactly what happens to your files and data when you use ilovepdfimg.com — in plain language.
The short version: most tools on this site run entirely in your browser — your files never touch our servers. A few tools (Office and OCR conversions, AI summaries) do process files on our server, and those files are deleted immediately after your download. We never sell your data.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to ilovepdfimg.com and every tool hosted on it. If you have questions about anything below, contact us — we read every message.
2. Browser-based tools: nothing is uploaded
Most tools — merging, splitting, compressing and rotating PDFs, all image editing tools, and the utilities (unit converter, password generator, hash generator, and similar) — run using JavaScript directly in your browser. The file you select is processed on your own device and never transmitted anywhere. We have no way to see, store, or access these files.
3. Server-based tools: what actually happens
A small number of tools need real conversion software that can't run in a browser, so the file is uploaded to our server, processed, and returned to you:
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint to PDF
- PDF to Word and PDF to Excel
- HTML to PDF
- OCR (scanned PDF to searchable text)
- AI PDF Summarizer
For these tools: your file is processed, the result is sent back to you, and the file is deleted from our server immediately after your download completes — typically within seconds to a few minutes. We don't keep backups, we don't review file contents, and no one on our team looks at what you upload.
The AI PDF Summarizer works a little differently: the text extracted from your PDF (not the file itself) is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a summary. Per Anthropic's own policies, this text isn't used to train their models and isn't retained by them beyond what's needed to generate your response. We don't store the extracted text or the summary on our end.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are useful and where the site can improve. This collects things like which pages you visit, your approximate location (city/country level), device type, and how you arrived at the site, using cookies. It does not have access to any file you process. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Advertising
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense to help keep every tool free. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can view or opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read Google's own practices in their policy for partner sites.
6. Cookies
We use a small session cookie for basic site security (CSRF protection) — it doesn't track you and expires when you close your browser. Google Analytics and, where enabled, Google AdSense set their own cookies as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the tools on this site will still work.
7. Contact form
If you use our contact form, we keep your name, email and message only as long as needed to respond to you.
8. Your rights
Since we don't create accounts or retain files, there's generally nothing of yours stored to access or delete. If you've contacted us and want your message removed from our records, or have any other privacy question, email us via the contact page and we'll handle it promptly.
9. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
